Julie Leffler

President / Creative Director

As the visionary leader and creative director of Big Hype Marketing & PR, Julie Leffler has built a powerhouse agency with a combination of grace, tenacity and panache. With her creative and discerning eye, on-point content writing skills, well-nurtured media relationships and her ability to multi-task as if she had eight arms, Julie provides a next-level dedication to clients, and creates strategic campaigns that make an impact.

 Julie’s 15 years of experience in marketing and public relations has provided her with the ability and skills to work with clients as a comprehensive strategist, developing great ideas for them that are executed into full-blown marketing strategies. Her background provides guidance to clients in a wide range of components, ranging from photo shoot design to content writing, media pitching, and social media, website design to back-end operations. She and her team create these marketing and public relations campaigns both regionally and nationally with results that positively impact the client’s bottom line. These abilities paired with her creative ideas and relationships is what gives Big Hype Marketing & PR the edge in successfully identifying, creating and implementing solutions for clients.

Julie is involved in every project that comes through the Big Hype doors, making sure that every product and service is top-notch, up to her high standards, and ensuring that each service the agency provides will be impactful and will lead to achieving the financial and brand goals of each client.

Julie launched Big Hype Marketing and PR in 2015 with the goal of supporting other entrepreneurs, business owners and talented individuals with building strong businesses and brands in the area that THEY are passionate about.

For more than 15 years, Julie Leffler has promoted both individuals and businesses across a variety of industries including, celebrities, fashion, events, charity, consumer products, service industry, theatrical movie releases, home video and non-profit organizations. Earlier in her career, Julie worked at PR agencies in Hollywood representing home video releases and then celebrities, movie premieres and theatrical releases. She later managed both marketing and public relations at action sports company, Hurley. In 2006, Julie launched her own public relations agency, Prestige Public Relations, representing fashion and lifestyle brands. Prestige PR grew in to Big Hype Marketing in 2015 with the addition of comprehensive digital marketing services including SEO, SEM, website design, influencer marketing as well as graphic design and print marketing.

Rachel Dares

Public Relations Director

Rachel Dares is an accomplished public relations specialist with more than a decade of media experience. She brings passion and drive to representing clients and securing media coverage for clients of all different talents. Combining savvy PR skills with an unbridled energy and unmatched ambition, Rachel guides clients to connect them with the media and industry movers and shakers that help maximize their exposure and catapult their career.

Rachel hustles to provide thoughtful strategic guidance and top results for clients. Her love of life overflows into her communication and public relations skills and helps her to optimize the best outcome for clients. Her efforts create a foundation for client’s success by spreading the word about their personal talents and communicating messaging that makes them shine. She supports clients in thriving without altering their goals or vision. Rachel develops a personal bond with each client so that she can understand them on an individual level and provide them with the right service for their specific needs, industry, and goals. Her success is evidenced by her longstanding relationships with clients and press.

Rachel’s 20+ years of sales and marketing experience has provided a catalyst for understanding her clients and has increased her ability to assess, direct and take action. She provides strategic insights and the ability to tailor each pitch for each communication effort. She is a creative PR powerhouse, providing a level of ingenuity to branding and marketing.

Rachel has created, produced and hosted her own Visual Radio Show with 95.1 KFRG’s Radio DJ, Marshall Thomas. Also, a former Feature Reporter & Newscaster, her journalistic background gives her strength in the field of public relations and a deeper understanding of working with the media. Rachel’s background in media relations, strategic alliances and journalism has opened doors for clients in miraculous ways.


Rivers Morrell IV

Director of Brand Development

Rivers Morrell has been an entrepreneur since 2000 when in college, at the University of California San Diego, he founded two student non-profit organizations, US First, and Food For Thought. He partnered with the local VONS Grocery Stores to distribute their excess food to local homeless foundations.

Rivers’ strongest business asset has always been his ability to market products, increase distribution channels and drive sales. After college he took a job in the financial services industry with a planning firm where he worked closely with large donors for non-profit organizations. There he was responsible for increasing structured gifts from the donors back to the non-profit organizations.

In 2006 at the height of the real estate boom Rivers joined the sales team at Quick Loan Funding, one of the largest subprime lenders in the country at the time. As a sales manager he increased morale and assured that the team consistently over-achieved on the monthly sales goal of 800 loans.

In 2013, Rivers founded Tap To Eat, a mobile and online ordering company and app focused on the restaurant space. Tap To Eat has raised $750K and currently has over 1,500 restaurants participating with the app across the United States. At the end of 2015, Rivers left his full-time role at Tap To Eat to join Big Hype Marketing as the Brand Development Director.  Rivers works with incoming and new clients to determine what their marketing needs are and how Big Hype Marketing can help their company build awareness for their brand and drive sales.

Rivers enjoys speaking with each new client to understand their company, business and services. He takes great pride in discussing what marketing products will work best for each client.
