In collaboration with Food Network Celebrity Chef, Aarti Sequeira, we whipped up the perfect branding recipe: we started with a homemade base of chef expertise, Middle Eastern culture, and motherly love, added a dash of unwavering Christian faith, and topped it all off with a little spice.

Synopsis

Aarti Sequeira is a cooking show host, cookbook author, journalist, television producer and tv personality who has become a mainstay on Food Network after winning season six of Food Network Star. With her unique signature style of recipes and her great knowledge of spices, she has inevitably been dubbed “Spice Queen” and has become a sought-after television host, guest, influencer, commentator, and judge. Aarti and her team came to us looking to create a logo and brand style that they could utilize on products and other materials as they took her from Food Network Star to the next level of celebrity.

Design Principle

Aarti’s brand is inspired by her vibrant dishes, rich cultural upbringing, and sassy persona on Food Network. When creating her brand kit, we knew we needed a palette as bold as the chef herself. We opted for bright fuschias, golds, and teals to visualize her personality. We then took inspiration from Aarti’s voice- both passionate and poised- to tell her story in messaging.

Our Strategies

Work summAry

We created a logo, color palette, and brand style guide for Aarti which has been used on all of her marketing collateral, including on signage at appearances, on her website, with her partnerships and now on her consumer products including her Recipe Journal created by DaySpring.

We also organized a brand photoshoot to capture lifestyle photos that tell her individual story of family, faith. and food. These photos have been utilized for marketing collateral time and time again. We used our brand elements and photography to design and develop her custom website. We also manage all of her social media platforms and work with sponsorship partners to manage their social media partnerships with Aarti, including partnerships with Kitchen Aid, The Date Commission, Vitamix, Ritz Crackers, Bounty Paper Towels, and more. We also create and distribute an email newsletter campaign that is sent to subscribers twice a month.

As an influencer, partnerships are vital to Aarti ’s brand to optimize reach, increase following, and publicize the Aarti Sequeira brand. We have been able to manage top-choice partnerships such as KitchenAid, Vitamix, DaySpring, and Dates Are Great to align with Aarti’s personal and professional interests.

EMAIL CAMPAIGN
We have developed an intimate relationship between Aarti and her fanbase over the years, so we wanted to focus a piece of our marketing strategy into nurturing those relationships. We came up with a subscription-based email campaign that welcomes followers to Aarti’s table to enjoy exclusive recipes, devotionals, personal stories, and information on upcoming events. The campaign is designed to keep Aarti at the forefront of her fans’ minds, as well as allow subscribers to feel connected to Aarti as genuine friends of hers.

Impact

Big Hype Marketing was responsible for creating Aarti’s entire visual brand and social media presence. Our branding has been used and will continue to be used on all of her consumer products developed within her company and brand. We have increased her social media followings tremendously and been a catalyst into building her celebrity brand and managing her sponsorship partnerships.
